Wedding alcohol calculator FAQs
Plan on about one drink per guest per hour, plus two drinks in the first hour when everyone arrives thirsty. For a 4-hour reception with 100 guests, that’s roughly 500 drinks total — the calculator above breaks that into exact bottle counts for you.
A standard 750ml bottle pours about five glasses. If roughly a quarter of your guests’ drinks are wine over four hours, that’s around 25 bottles — split evenly between red and white unless you know your crowd leans one way.
For a full bar, roughly a quarter of all drinks will be beer — about 125 beers for 100 guests over four hours, or just over five 24-packs. At around 120+ beers, a half-barrel keg usually beats cases on price, and the calculator flags that switch for you.
Budget about 1.5 pounds of ice per guest — 60% for chilling bottles, 40% for serving drinks, kept separate. For 100 guests that’s 150 pounds, or eight 20-pound bags. Add about a third more for outdoor summer events.
You buy 100% of the alcohol — that’s what makes it dry-hire, and it’s why your guests drink free with no venue markup. We supply everything else: mixers, fresh garnishes, ice, cups, napkins, the portable bar itself, and the bartenders. As an Oklahoma mobile bartender team, we also send you the exact shopping list so there’s zero guesswork.
